Horsey Hundred 2024

The Horsey Hundred is the premier cycling event in Kentucky and the signature event of the Bluegrass Cycling Club. We’ve come a long way since the inaugural Horsey Hundred was held at the Kentucky Horse Park (Lexington, KY) in 1978. The first event featured 50-mile routes on Saturday and Sunday with an optional Century ride on Saturday.   No records exist of how many participated the first year, but the next year (1979) had 65 participants. The event now hosts well over 2,000 riders.

Kick off your weekend with a blast on Friday filled with excitement and activities, including optional rides across the stunning Bluegrass Region led by the Bluegrass Cycling Club. Explore a plethora of cycling-related vendors, tantalizing food trucks, and live entertainment.

Saturday takes center stage with five diverse route options, spanning from a 26-mile out and back to the renowned Century route. Then, on Sunday, take your pick from four rides ranging between 21 to 74 miles. Both days offer a picturesque expedition through the scenic wonders of the Bluegrass region, treating you to breathtaking sights such as horse farms, charming historic towns, meandering streams, captivating stone fences, lush pastures, and even stops at iconic bourbon distilleries and the state capital.

Rest assured, the entire ride is fully supported, ensuring your comfort with frequent rest stops stocked with not only the right nutritional necessities but also delicious treats carefully selected to power your ride.

We've Moved

This year, we’re saddling up at Charles Brooking Park in Georgetown, Kentucky.

Why the change in location? More space for fun and activities! Charles Brooking Park offers ample parking, a larger expo area, space for RV/Camper parking, space for tent camping, a wider variety of food trucks, and Country Boy beer. We believe this change will create a more enjoyable experience for all our amazing riders.

While our venue location has changed, what won’t change is the many beautiful routes you can choose from, the support you expect during your ride, and our legendary hospitality. This year our Saturday route options head West with the two longer routes rolling you through our scenic State Capitol of Frankfort.

We are also still proudly partnered with the amazing Georgetown/Scott County community, ready to cheer you on every mile.

We can’t wait to welcome you to a memorable Horsey Hundred filled with thrilling rides, delicious eats, new friends, and plenty of good times.
